7 June 2008
Well its June already, and Betty has her first outing for the year. Bit sad really. I've taken her for a drive every now and then, and to town for pink slip for rego, but apart from that she's been spending a lot of time in the shed.
So as a birthday treat I got a day off from building the house and got to spend some quality time with Betty. We headed up to Sydney for the SFCC dyno day. She tore up the rollers and made a blistering 31hp at the rear wheels. Ok, so its no wonder she is slow then. When new she was meant to have about 60hp at the engine, so with a estimated 30% loss through the driveline that is 43hp at the rears. So she's lost a bit over the 30 years. Was a great day out though, great to see the other cars on the dyno and to have a chat to everyone.

Carlyn said she'd get me some whitewalls for my birthday. So it only took me a month to get around to doing it. Found a guy locally that does it, so made the trek out near Berry to get it done. Was a bit nervous about getting them, wasn't sure how they'd look. But turns out I'm very happy with them. They change the way the car looks, and really suit it.

17 August 2008
Betty got another run to Sydney for the All Ford Day in August. Was a fantastic day, and the SFCC had prime position in the sun out the front of the grandstand. And there was a huge turnout for the club too.

9 November 2008
A show that can't really be missed is the SFCC concourse and display day. So Betty got dusted off and taken for a run up to Sydney. Pete came along for a look and we wandered around checking out all the cool small Fords on display. I had to get the whitewalls done again before the show. The ones I had done back in July had gone brown. I'm guessing its because the car doesn't get enough use, so the gunk in the tyres never really goes away.
